Jusqu'à la réforme de l'orthographe de 1990, cet adjectif suivait des règles d'accord élastiques (d'autant plus que le terme allemand Kitsch est indénombrable) avec un féminin « kitsch » et un pluriel « kitschs » pour les deux genres.
